Chief Executive Officer (Technology Distribution)
Job Overview
An authorised distributor for major global technology providers is appointing a Chief Executive Officer for its group of companies, based in Centurion with hybrid work. The business delivers products and services to the mining, construction, agriculture, geospatial and transportation & logistics industries, built around core technologies in positioning, modelling, connectivity and data analytics.
The CEO will develop and execute the group strategic plan, identify market opportunities and drive growth and expansion, and provide visionary leadership across all subsidiaries and departments. The role oversees daily operations and service delivery, manages the budget in close collaboration with the Financial Director, and acts as the primary point of contact for major clients, suppliers and shareholders.
Suited to an executive with 10+ years in executive management or director roles in an engineering or technology organisation — ideally in geospatial, engineering, mining, construction or agriculture — with experience distributing a global technology supplier's products into Africa. Stated package R250,000–R330,000 per month.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and execute the strategic plan to achieve business goals for the group of companies
• Identify market opportunities and drive growth and expansion strategies; provide visionary leadership to all subsidiaries and departments
• Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery
• Oversee and manage the budget with the Financial Director; monitor financial performance and key metrics and implement corrective actions
• Build and maintain relationships with key clients, suppliers, shareholders and stakeholders; act as primary contact for major clients and suppliers
• Represent the company at industry events, conferences and meetings
• Lead, mentor and inspire a high-performing executive team and implement talent development programmes for EXCO, managers and employees
• Conduct market and competitor analysis and identify new products, service offerings and market segments with BD&I
• Drive business development, maintain a robust opportunity pipeline and shape sales strategies with sales and marketing
Required Qualifications
• Degree in Technology or Engineering and a business-related degree
• More than 10 years in Executive Management / Director roles
• Proven executive leadership and innovation in an engineering or technology organisation, preferably geospatial, engineering, mining, construction or agricultural
• Experience with a global technology supplier distributing products and solutions into Africa (ideal)
• Extensive business network in the mining industry (big advantage)
• Demonstrated success in strategic planning and execution, business development and operational management
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, product lifecycle and technology/market trends in the target industries
