Job Overview

Goldman Tech Resourcing (Stand-Out Staffing) is recruiting a Chief Operating Officer for a dynamic commercial/operations company based in Johannesburg. The main purpose of the role is to ensure the efficient, profitable and sustainable operation of the business by providing strategic leadership, driving operational efficiency and overseeing performance across all operational functions to support shareholder objectives.

The COO will bring senior management experience with a proven track record in operational leadership, business growth and managing multidisciplinary teams, plus strong financial, commercial and strategic acumen and expertise in risk, compliance and stakeholder management. Experience in agriculture, manufacturing or distribution is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for efficient, profitable and sustainable business operations

• Drive operational efficiency across all operational functions

• Oversee performance management against shareholder and business objectives

• Lead multidisciplinary operational teams

• Apply financial, commercial and strategic acumen to growth and profitability decisions

• Own risk, compliance and stakeholder management for operations

• Support business growth initiatives in a commercial/operations environment

• Align day-to-day operations with long-term strategic priorities

• Partner with finance and leadership on operational performance and investment trade-offs

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Commerce, Engineering, Agriculture or Operations Management

• MBA or postgraduate qualification preferred

• Minimum 10 years of senior management experience

• Proven track record in operational leadership, business growth and managing multidisciplinary teams

• Strong financial, commercial and strategic acumen

• Expertise in risk, compliance and stakeholder management

• Experience in agriculture, manufacturing or distribution advantageous
