Job Overview

E&D Recruiters is recruiting a Chief RF/Antenna Engineer in Centurion to lead technical excellence in the RF Engineering discipline for a defence and aerospace engineering client (ref Pta003944/EP, #3944).

The Chief Engineer acts as the design authority for the discipline, leading complex system designs and reviewing design activities for compliance, manufacturability and performance integrity. The role mentors engineers, supports opportunity evaluation, feasibility studies and bid development, and collaborates with other Chief Engineers and executive leadership to align technical strategy with company objectives.

Candidates need a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering specialising in Antenna Theory or RF Electronics/Firmware, 10+ years with proven technical leadership, recognised subject-matter expertise and strong familiarity with MIL-STD, STANAG, IEC and ISO standards. Key Responsibilities

• Act as design authority for the RF/antenna discipline, leading complex system designs

• Ensure technical excellence across RF engineering deliverables

• Guide and review design activities for compliance, manufacturability and performance integrity

• Provide technical mentorship and foster continuous learning and innovation

• Support opportunity evaluation, feasibility studies and bid development

• Collaborate with other Chief Engineers and executive leadership to align technical strategy with company objectives

• Drive research and process improvement

• Drive intellectual property generation

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering specialising in Antenna Theory or RF Electronics/Firmware

• 10+ years’ relevant engineering experience with proven technical leadership

• Recognised subject-matter expert (e.g. electromagnetic simulation, structural mechanics, embedded systems or firmware)

• Strong familiarity with defence and aerospace standards (MIL-STD, STANAG, IEC, ISO)

• Proficient in MS Office

• Beneficial: MATLAB, Python, FEKO, HFSS, CST or similar simulation tools

• South African citizens only
