Job Overview

MSP Staffing's client is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager in Johannesburg to take overall responsibility for delivering assigned construction projects, with a particular focus on mining infrastructure civil works.

The role provides strategic oversight across project planning, commercial performance, HSEQ, contractual management and site execution, ensuring projects are delivered safely, profitably, to specification and within programme — including Cost to Complete and Final Margin forecasting and FIDIC contract management.

It suits a civil engineer or construction manager with 15+ years' industry experience, 5-7 years as a Contracts Manager or Senior Project Manager across multiple sites, and DFI-funded and mining-related civil construction experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and accountability for assigned construction projects

• Develop project strategies, programmes and delivery plans

• Analyse budgets, cost reports, forecasts and financial performance

• Manage Cost to Complete and Final Margin forecasting

• Drive commercial performance and protect project profitability

• Manage client relationships, contractual correspondence, claims and risks

• Coordinate executive management, regional operations, project teams and clients

Required Qualifications

• BSc or BTech in Civil Engineering or Construction Management

• 15+ years in civil engineering with 5-7 years as Contracts Manager or Senior PM

• DFI-funded infrastructure and mining civil construction experience

• Pr.CPM (SACPCMP) or Pr Eng (ECSA) registration

• Expert FIDIC knowledge; RIB CCS (Candy) and Buildsmart experience
