Data Scientist (Intermediate)
Job Overview
Create opportunities that delight customers by leveraging vast clinical, demographic and operational data. Work within a specialised growing team investigating ways to optimise and improve client services for health client schemes.
Key Responsibilities
Connect with stakeholders to understand data in a healthcare context. Mine large structured and unstructured datasets to find insights for healthcare efficiency and interaction strategies. Research and apply up-to-date machine learning algorithms and AI techniques. Present data and model findings as actionable insights. Implement results for internal and external use; monitor model performance. Improve processes and databases where opportunities arise.
Required Qualifications
Honours or Master's in Data Science, Statistics or Applied Mathematics with software engineering or big data experience; OR Honours/Master's in Computer Science or Software Engineering with solid statistical modelling, data mining and ML experience. Minimum 2-3 years' work experience in a data science position. Expert in R, Python or Scala and SQL for ETL. Experience in interactive data exploration and data-driven storytelling. Understanding of Big Data and distributed computing (Hadoop/MapReduce); hands-on Big Data preferred. Strong statistical knowledge and latest ML algorithms for structured and unstructured data. Strong communication of findings; production ML/AI experience; Git proficiency.
