Executive: Sales and Commercialisation
Job Overview
Absa is appointing an Executive: Sales and Commercialisation in Johannesburg to lead the sales production and enablement strategy across Integrated Channels, including Voice (Contact Centre). The role exists to drive sustainable revenue growth, customer acquisition, retention and channel performance.
You will be accountable for integrating customer, product, segment and channel strategies into one cohesive commercial growth agenda — optimising sales effectiveness, digital adoption and customer lifecycle value across Branch, Contact Centre, Digital and emerging acquisition channels. The mandate includes strategic leadership of the Call Centre across service, sales, operational excellence, workforce, technology and risk.
Suited to a retail, commercial or financial services leader with 10–15 years' experience, at least eight in senior leadership, who has run large-scale sales, commercialisation or revenue-growth functions and led leaders across multiple channels.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and execute the Integrated Channels sales production, customer and enablement strategy aligned to growth objectives
• Define customer acquisition, growth, retention and portfolio optimisation strategies across segments and channels
• Provide strategic leadership for the Call Centre across service, sales, operational excellence, workforce, technology and risk
• Own end-to-end sales delivery and commercial outcomes; drive conversion, pipeline and lead-management effectiveness
• Implement performance management frameworks and sales scorecards; partner with Product on targets and priorities
• Optimise channel economics, productivity, cost-to-income and product/customer/channel mix
• Lead customer-centric innovation, digital adoption and data-monetisation opportunities with data & analytics teams
• Build future-fit sales capability and lead a high-performing sales enablement and commercialisation team
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Management, Marketing, Economics, Finance or Banking
• Preferred: postgraduate degree, MBA/MBL or equivalent executive leadership qualification; professional banking qualification advantageous
• 10–15 years' experience in Retail Banking, Financial Services or Commercial Banking
• Minimum 8 years in senior leadership roles, managing large teams and leading leaders
• Proven success leading large-scale sales, commercialisation or revenue growth functions
• Experience managing Digital, Contact Centre and Branch sales channels and implementing enterprise-wide sales strategies
