General Manager – Fleet Operations

• Lead overall transport and fleet operations aligned to business objectives

• Manage and develop Fleet Supervisors, Controllers and driver teams

• Optimise route planning, scheduling, fleet utilisation and turnaround times

• Ensure full compliance with transport legislation, RTMS and safety standards

• Drive fleet performance across uptime, fuel efficiency, maintenance costs and profitability

• Manage departmental budgets, cost controls and financial performance

• Maintain strong client relationships and SLA performance

• Lead recruitment, performance management and staff development

• Prepare and present operational and financial reports to senior leadership

• Identify opportunities for fleet growth, process improvement and technology adoption

• 8–10 years’ transport/logistics experience including 3–5 years in senior management

• Proven leadership of multi-level teams in heavy-vehicle transport operations

• Strong commercial, budgeting and cost-management skills

• Sound knowledge of road transport legislation, RTMS and safety compliance

• PBS vehicle operations experience advantageous

• Experience with fleet management and telematics systems

• Strong client and SLA management experience

• Matric essential; relevant tertiary qualification advantageous; valid driver’s licence
