Job Overview

Absa’s Corporate & Investment Bank (Absa Capital) is hiring a Head Salesforce Solution & Org Architect in Sandton, Johannesburg (requisition R-15992192; full time; closing 28 October 2026). The role ensures that CIB’s Salesforce estate evolves as a secure, scalable, connected and sustainable enterprise platform, driving reuse, standardisation and adoption of native Salesforce and Financial Services Cloud capabilities across CIB’s pan-African footprint.

Absa is evolving Salesforce beyond traditional CRM into a connected client-engagement ecosystem that brings together Financial Services Cloud, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud Next, analytics, enterprise data and AI, with the ambition of moving from product-led to client-led banking (‘One Client | One Connected View | One CIB’). The architect provides leadership across solution architecture, org architecture and architecture governance, translating complex CIB requirements into end-to-end designs and guiding feature teams, developers, platform engineers and delivery partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Shape the target Salesforce architecture for a client-led, pan-African Corporate & Investment Bank

• Translate complex CIB business and technology requirements into end-to-end Salesforce solution architectures

• Apply deep Financial Services Cloud architecture and data-model expertise across CIB businesses and countries

• Determine how Salesforce interacts with enterprise applications, platforms and authoritative data sources

• Lead architecture decisions spanning data, integration, security, identity, automation, AI and custom development

• Protect long-term org integrity: challenge unnecessary customisation and champion native capability

• Establish blueprints, reusable patterns, standards and architecture guardrails for the platform

• Own target-state architecture, architecture roadmaps and platform evolution as accountable architecture authority

• Guide feature teams, developers, technical leads, platform engineers and delivery partners

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Information Technology (per advert)

• 10+ years’ experience across Salesforce platforms and enterprise technology environments

• Deep hands-on Salesforce architecture experience, ideally including Financial Services Cloud

• Proven delivery of Salesforce solutions across multiple business domains and large-scale programmes

• Experience architecting integrations with enterprise applications, data platforms and identity/security ecosystems

• Architecture leadership in complex, highly governed environments; CIB, wholesale, markets or transaction banking highly desirable

• Preferred certifications: Salesforce Application, System, Data or Integration Architect; Certified Technical Architect (CTA) highly advantageous
