Job Overview

Manpower South Africa is recruiting an Infrastructure Manager for a leading organisation in the transportation and infrastructure sector, based in Primrose, Germiston (CareerJunction 2646119). The role oversees infrastructure maintenance operations and leads a multidisciplinary technical team, ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable operation of critical railway infrastructure assets.

The Infrastructure Manager drives operational excellence and continuous improvement: developing maintenance systems and procedures, managing incident response, disaster recovery planning and operational risk, overseeing contractors and vendors, managing departmental budgets and cost control, and ensuring compliance with legislation, safety standards and industry best practice while building a culture of accountability and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage infrastructure maintenance activities to achieve operational and performance targets

• Develop, implement and improve maintenance systems, processes and procedures

• Manage incident response, disaster recovery planning and operational risk mitigation

• Oversee contractor and vendor relationships, including scope definition, service delivery and performance

• Manage departmental budgets, cost-control initiatives and financial performance

• Build strong stakeholder relationships across internal and external functions

• Lead performance management, coaching, training, succession planning and team development

• Ensure compliance with legislation, safety standards and industry best practice

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical, Electronic or Civil Engineering

• Professional registration with ECSA

• Minimum 10 years in a senior supervisory or management role in railway maintenance or infrastructure

• Proven experience managing multidisciplinary technical teams

• Strong understanding of maintenance operations, contractor management, budgeting and risk management

• Excellent leadership, stakeholder engagement, negotiation and people management skills
