Job Overview

Komatsu South Africa — part of the global Komatsu group that builds construction equipment and autonomous mining trucks for the forestry, construction and mining industries — is hiring a Manager: Group Operations Reporting in Gauteng.

The role leads financial accounting and operational reporting across divisions and subsidiaries: managing the Accounts Payable and Job Costing functions, analysing inventory, stock valuations, WIP and RAMP (repair and maintenance) contracts, producing consolidated operational and financial reports, and drafting reports for executive management and Komatsu global reporting requirements.

You will also drive ERP/SAP reporting enhancements and financial controls and lead a high-performing finance team. Requires a BCom Honours (Accounting), completed SAICA articles, 10+ years' financial accounting and reporting experience and 4+ years in a tactical management role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Accounts Payable and Job Costing functions and related financial controls

  • Review and analyse monthly financial results and variances; support budgeting across divisions and operating units

  • Review quarterly provisions and financial submissions from subsidiary operations

  • Analyse inventory performance, stock valuations, obsolescence, stock movements and working capital

  • Monitor RAMP contracts and WIP reporting and recommend improvements to profitability

  • Produce consolidated operational and financial reports for executive management and Komatsu global reporting

  • Lead ERP/SAP reporting enhancements, process improvement and reporting standardisation with ICT and auditors

  • Develop and maintain robust financial controls and governance processes

  • Lead and develop the finance team; manage resource planning, performance and talent development

Required Qualifications

  • BCom Honours in Accounting and completed SAICA articles (essential)

  • SAICA AGA or CIMA qualification advantageous

  • Minimum 10 years' financial accounting and reporting experience

  • Minimum 4 years in a tactical management role

  • Advanced SAP, Excel and PowerPoint; intermediate BI and BPC systems

  • Knowledge of IFRS, J-SOX, the VAT Act, Companies Act and National Credit Act
