Job Overview

Lead end-to-end payroll for a large multi-company automotive group covering 40+ entities and 4,000+ staff from the HR head office in Sandton. Own payroll accuracy and review before payment release, ensure compliance with South African labour and tax legislation, and oversee employee loading, pay rates, biometrics, and employee self-service. Drive monthly reconciliations, EMP201 and WCA submissions, payroll journal posting, and statutory reporting. Lead and coach a payroll specialist team while improving processes through systems, automation, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, or HR/Payroll Management. Proven experience as a Payroll Manager managing large multi-entity payrolls (4,000+ staff). Expert knowledge of South African labour law, tax legislation, and statutory returns (EMP201, WCA, UIF). Practical experience with payroll and related systems such as Sage 300, Acumatica, Salesforce, biometrics, and ESS highly advantageous. Advanced Microsoft Office skills with strong financial acumen, coaching ability, and deadline-driven execution.
