Job Overview

Talent Evolution is recruiting a Senior Facilities Manager in Johannesburg responsible for the technical and operational management of a retail shopping centre, ensuring all building services, infrastructure and facilities operate safely, reliably and efficiently.

The role provides hands-on technical leadership across building systems, preventative maintenance, CAPEX projects, utilities, contractor management and statutory compliance — spanning electrical distribution, HVAC, chillers and cooling towers, water reticulation, solar PV, generators and UPS, BMS and fire protection.

It suits a technically qualified facilities professional with at least 5 years' experience in a large or complex retail centre who can manage budgets, contractors and SLAs and drive energy and water savings.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all building services and technical systems and conduct regular plant inspections

• Develop and monitor planned and preventative maintenance programmes

• Oversee HVAC, chillers, electrical distribution, water systems, solar PV, generators and UPS

• Manage contractors and service providers against contracts and SLAs

• Prepare facilities budgets and forecasts and execute approved CAPEX projects

• Monitor electricity and water consumption and implement cost-saving initiatives

• Ensure OHS and statutory compliance including inspections and certificates

• Manage tenant installations and technical fit-outs

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, Building Services or related

• Minimum 5 years' facilities management experience

• Proven experience in a large or complex retail shopping centre

• Experience managing CAPEX projects, budgets, contractors and SLAs

• Working knowledge of OHS legislation and statutory compliance
