Job Overview

The Recruiter is seeking an Estimating Manager / Senior Estimator for a leading construction company in Cape Town (Careers24 2396172; reference CT002535/GJ; permanent; R95,000+ per month; posted 28 October 2026; apply before 27 November 2026). The appointee takes full accountability for the company’s estimating function, leading the estimating process from initial tender review through to final submission across both Government and Private Sector projects.

This senior leadership position owns the estimating department and leads a team of three direct reports, operating independently to provide sound commercial input and ensure tenders are accurate, competitive and strategically positioned – drawing on strong Candy/CCS capability, NEC and JBCC contract experience and a strong understanding of construction methodologies, pricing, subcontractor quotations and tender strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Take full accountability for the company’s estimating function and department
Lead the estimating process from initial tender review through to final submission
Manage tenders end to end in Candy/CCS for Government and Private Sector projects
Ensure tenders are accurate, competitive and strategically positioned
Price construction methodologies and evaluate subcontractor quotations
Shape tender strategy and provide sound commercial and contractual input under NEC and JBCC
Lead, develop and review the work of a team of three estimators

Required Qualifications

Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related discipline10–20 years’ construction estimating experience

Strong Candy/CCS experience with the ability to manage tenders from start to finish

Extensive experience with NEC and JBCC contracts

Proven exposure to both Government and Private Sector projects

Previous experience leading an estimating function or team; strong commercial, analytical and negotiation skills
