Learning and Capability Building Lead
Job Overview
Lead the design and implementation of functional academies within Shared Services HR, converting business strategy and future-skills requirements into academy strategies, capability frameworks, curricula and applied learning experiences for employees and leaders.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose functional capability needs with executives, SMEs and HRBPs using workforce analytics and performance data. Develop and maintain academy strategy and architecture spanning technical, professional, commercial, risk, digital and leadership capability. Design blended applied learning solutions close to the flow of work. Act as senior capability advisor to functional executives and challenge learning requests that lack clear business need. Assess how AI, automation and regulation affect roles and define reskilling pathways. Strengthen succession pipelines for critical professional and leadership roles. Maintain a prioritised academy roadmap and measure impact on proficiency, mobility and business outcomes.
Required Qualifications
Relevant degree in Human Resources, Education, Industrial Psychology, Organisational Psychology, Business Management or related field; postgraduate advantageous. At least 8–10+ years in learning strategy, capability development, academy design, talent development or professional education. Experience consulting to senior stakeholders and translating complex requirements into capability strategies. Experience designing functional academies, career pathways or large-scale capability programmes advantageous.
