Job Overview

GBS is hiring a Senior Financial Analyst for its Data Operations / Collections team in Durban (ref 210585; permanent; apply before 9 January 2027). The role turns complex financial data into business insight, strengthens financial controls and identifies opportunities to improve operational efficiency.

The analyst owns reporting, budgets and forecasts, oversees bill runs and premium collections, manages bordereaux reconciliations and partners with department heads, while mentoring Financial Analysts.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare financial reports, dashboards, budgets, forecasts and variance analyses

• Oversee bill run submissions, premium collections and related queries

• Manage premium collection and bordereaux reconciliations; investigate discrepancies

• Partner with department heads with financial insights and recommendations

• Develop financial models, revenue estimates and predictive forecasts

• Automate processes and improve reporting and collections efficiency

• Strengthen financial controls and data confidentiality

• Coach and support Financial Analysts

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or BCom (essential)

• Minimum 5 years in finance incl. analysis, reporting and reconciliations

• 2+ years in billing, debit order collections or revenue management

• Working knowledge of DebiCheck and debit order collection processes

• Proven financial modelling and forecasting; insurance/underwriting experience advantageous

• Power BI, SQL and Salesforce advantageous
