Job Overview

Hire Resolve is recruiting a Finance Controller for a laboratory services client in Amanzimtoti, Durban South (permanent; reference 208549; posted 3 November 2026; apply before 4 December 2026). The Finance Controller takes charge of comprehensive financial management, statutory compliance and reporting, oversees a small finance and creditors team, manages budget-pack production and leads multi-entity audit processes.

The role spans cash flow, management fees and bad-debt provisioning, variance analysis and management reporting packs, all SARS obligations (EMP, VAT, provisional tax), CIPC returns and BEE compliance, balance-sheet and system reconciliations, banking and payment verification, and accountability for the audits of four group entities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage cash flow, calculate management fees and provide for bad debts; produce financial variance analysis

• Oversee compilation of financial and management reporting and budget packs

• Manage all SARS requirements – EMP201/501, VAT and provisional tax – plus CIPC statutory returns and BEE compliance

• Perform balance-sheet, GL and system reconciliations across stock, debtors and payroll; manage month-end closures

• Lead and guide a three-person creditors and finance team

• Take accountability for the audits of four group entities; liaise with group accountants, legal counsel, insurers and auditors

• Manage banking systems, secure payment verification and bank statement updates

Required Qualifications

• BCom Honours degree

• Proven experience in a similar financial management / finance controller role

• Deep working knowledge of Pastel and Xero (mandatory); advanced MS Excel

• Thorough grounding in IFRS and IFRS for SMEs

• Strong financial reporting and professional communication skills

• Immediate availability preferred
