Job Overview

Fempower Personnel is recruiting a Head of Communications & Stakeholder Relations for a leading South African organisation operating in the public-sector environment, based in Pretoria (Wolmer; permanent; posted 3 November 2026; listing expires 7 December 2026). This executive leadership role drives corporate communications, stakeholder engagement, reputation management, marketing, media relations and internal communications.

The Head shapes organisational reputation and brand positioning, provides strategic counsel to senior leadership, builds executive-level relationships with internal and external stakeholders, oversees media, content and digital communications, and leads a high-performing team with full budget and performance accountability.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and implement the communications and stakeholder engagement strategy
Drive reputation management, brand positioning and marketing initiatives
Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
Oversee media relations, content development, digital communications and public messaging
Provide strategic counsel to senior leadership on communication and stakeholder matters
Lead internal communication initiatives that enhance employee engagement and alignment
Manage a high-performing team, budgets and performance

Required Qualifications

Postgraduate qualification in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or related field (Master’s advantageous)
Minimum 15 years’ experience in communications, marketing, PR or stakeholder management
At least 8 years in a senior management or executive leadership role
Demonstrated success in corporate communications, reputation management, content and marketing campaigns
Sound understanding of the South African public-sector environment
